Jim Messner

Jim has lived in Cochrane since 1985 where he & his wife raised a family of 3 children. He has witnessed many changes locally and regionally since the town had a population of only 4,000 people.

Jim has been active in the Cochrane community since he moved here. In 2001 he retired from his first career as a Police Officer and as the N.C.O. in charge of the RCMP Municipal Policing in Cochrane.

• A retired Police Officer with Management & Public Relations experience.
• Has owned 3 successful businesses, including a real estate business for 10 years.
• Was the VP of Marketing for 3 other Calgary businesses including one involved in Professional Motorsports (NASCAR) in the U.S.A.
• Founded the Cochrane Business Network in 2005.
• Founded five more chapters in Calgary – The Calgary Business Network.
• Tried retirement in 2001 and 2013 and quickly got bored each time!
• In 2014 he accepted his current position as the Manager of Business Development at Royal LePage Integrity here in Cochrane.
• He manages the Training, Business Coaching & Hiring aspects of the business.
• Jimis a believer that there is an even greater need now for local business networking & business training.
• He also believes that Cochrane’s local business community is much stronger by working together.
• On the personal side: Jimhas been married for 32 years, lived in Cochrane for over 30 years and enjoys spending time with his 3 grown children, their families & his 3 grandchildren.
• In the winter months Jimspends his time living and working from Arizona.
